Heart of AmericaRFU Metropolitan Committee

The Heart of America Metropolitan Committee is being revived to oversee the efforts within the
Kansas Cityarea by all organizations to obtain fields and to promote and market the sport. They will be working in conjunction with the HoA Youth Committee to market the sport at that level. The Committee’s purpose is to coordinate the local efforts by creating transparency between all local organizations to promote, and market the sport to the community. This Committee is currently a HoA Committee, but has not been utilized in many years. The coordination of efforts to promote the sport is the immediate focus of this committee.

Objectives

Task to be completed by Feb 1, 2009 (See document below)

Create a working data base of all newspapers, parks and recreation departments of cities and counties, and participant membership of local HoA Clubs. Within this task, find the pathways to get scores posted on a weekly basis in all local publications that all clubs within the HoA can use. Identify all contacts from all publications, and the specific departments that can produce and provide articles. Create a weekly marketing memo to send to all publications. Create articles to be published in all local publications.

Document on Promotion of Sport via Media Outlets.

AGM.

Creation of a budget.

Task to be completed by Summer AGMfor presentation.

Create a 3-5 year marketing plan to promote and market the sport. This includes all Men’s and Women’s Clubs from Senior to touch leagues. This will include creating a presentation for local newspapers and P&R departments.

Task to be completed by Summer AGM for 2010-2011 Competitive cycle.

Coordinate local Clubs to have multiple matches at one venue. This can be done on a rotating basis; this will help with providing a marketing tool and benefit the Referee development and appointments.

Coordinate all local tournaments, and create a plan to host the HoA annual tournament
